Back to Civilian Life

ARMY LIFE IS OVER FOR MAJOR PARK

He seemed pretty happy to think he wouldn't have to put this uniform on again.  But he also feels very proud of it and wants to preserve it.

The boots won't be missed. Although they are kinda manly and sexy. ha ha

He made some great friends while serving at Martin Army Hospital in Fort Benning, GA. In total he served 12 years with one 6 month deployment to Iraq.

We started this military process in Aug. 2011 being told that he would never be deployed because we hadn't had a war in so long.  A month later the twin towers were hit and it definitely changed our lives.  We faced an unknown future and Mike was especially fearful of being deployed. Ironically his deployment turned out to be one of his best memories because it made him realize he can do hard things and gave him a deeper appreciation for the real soldiers who sacrifice so much.  It's funny to look at experiences when you are on the other end of them and realize how quickly time goes and how you learn to cope with life and its challenges. It's really all about having faith that everything will turn out how it should, and to enjoy (or endure) the adventures life throws at you.
