THE PARK POST

We decided to go to Utah for Spring Break this year since Katie was expecting her first baby around the same time.  Little did we know Grandpa Ogden would be hospitalized with a staph infection from his hip replacement.  We felt so blessed that we could be there and visit with him in person.  This has been a tough thing for him and for my mom.  He just found out he has another 3 1/2 months of surgery and recovery time.  We hope he can hang in there not only physically but mentally/emotionally as well.  We want him to get well and be around for a lot longer!!   Paige celebrated her 18th birthday the day after we arrived.  We took her to Divergent and then out to eat at The Roof with both sets of grandparents.  Luckily Grandpa O got to check out of the rehab center for a few hours and come.  I still can't believe she is an adult.  I'll never forget the words I muttered through sobs and tears that first week of her life, "I do...

Paige cooked for over 300 kids at a multi-stake youth dance.  She also created the tablescape and kept the food coming all night long.  (mom helped a little too :)  Both of our feet were a little tired by the end, but it was fun!!  She found a little time to dance too. Mostly with the girls.  She was glad it was over by the end.  She was tired of the 14 year old boys asking her to dance.  ha ha.     Working  Hard!! First pool day of the year felt so nice!  And of course we had to get McKell's handstand pic.  We've got a few of those on hand!  Sydney got picked to be the monarch butterfly in her school production of Bugz.  She has really started to like drama and singing.  She loves to be on stage!   The trees exploded with blossoms a few weeks ago.    Mike and I took a much needed get away to Atlanta for a few days.  Paige watched the kids for us.  We discovered our new favorite breakfast place called the Flying Biscuit Cafe.  It was delicious!  We also hiked Kennesaw Mountain, which was really more like a hill, but it was nice to be above the trees and be able to see out!  Another plus was the  Civil War History at the site.     And then we ran into this little Sister Missionary! It was so fun to see her for 5 min. at the Atlanta Airport.  We had to sneak a hug before her mission president figured out our little scheme.     We had a youth temple trip and a big turn out!
