Summer Camps

Jackson and Sydney both participated in a week long basketball camp earlier in the summer.  I didn't get any photos of Jackson, but he was playing against some very athletic 15 year olds and didn't get the ball much.  It wasn't his favorite experience.  Sydney actually had a fun time even though she and one other girl were the only females.  She played pretty aggressive with the boys.

McKell's girls camp was themed "Daughter of a King."  She doesn't have a lot of girls her age in our stake, and with Paige not being there this year she didn't have as much fun.  But she endured!

Jackson spent his first week away at boy scout camp.  He was not very thrilled to sleep away from home because of his insomnia problems.  He didn't call us until the second night.  Despite the pleadings,  I told him I wouldn't be coming to get him and that he had to learn how to stay away from home.  (I think he did more praying that week than he ever has.) He probably thought I was not very compassionate, but I really believed it was the best thing for him to overcome that fear.  And he did it!!  Apparently he learned to play poker and some other unsavory habits, but I still think it was worth it!
