June 2017

A couple days after graduation, Mike and I rented a beach house near Sunset, Beach California to celebrate McKell's
graduation.  She and seven friends planned this trip for months and everybody contributed money to pay for the house. Despite it not being very sunny, they still had a great time and luckily got along pretty well considering they've had some problems in the past with each other.  Mike and I enjoyed our time relaxing, reading and napping.

On June 4 Grandma Arnell passed away.  She had broken her hip a week earlier and never really recovered at all.  She was ready to pass on so it was quite a relief for everyone that she didn't have to suffer for long. Mike flew out to Utah a day before I drove home with all the girls from California.  The funeral was in Blackfoot. It was the first time he and all his siblings had been together in a long time. Grandma was never really the same after Grandpa died in 2003.  Thinking of them together again in heaven made my heart happy!

A few days after we got home, McKell was off to California again.  This time with Kate and her family.  She has had quite the celebratory summer!
Sydney kept busy volunteering at Pet Depot with Grace, serving at Feed My Starving Children, baking, making slime, etc.  She likes to keep busy!

We've enjoyed the pool amidst all the heat.  It's really what gets us through the summer.  The girls and I went shopping in Scottsdale one day while Jackson was at scout camp.   We also went to the Tucson Temple open house the same day the youth were there.  It is tiny but beautiful!

Paige has been having a great time in Provo.  She went on a date where they danced and she ended up with a bloody nose when he accidentally hit her in the face.  She had a good attitude about it and laughed it off.
