It was way too dark when we woke up! |

My attempt to take Jackson's picture before getting on the bus. |

A little fuzzy, but the only one I took of Syd so I have to use it. |

The back side of Jackson. Have I mentioned how he hates having his picture taken? |
It's back to school time again. It was sooooo hard to wake up on Monday morning! We have truly enjoyed our late nights and sleeping in this summer, but it is always good to be back in a routine and I have to admit I am enjoying the quiet around the house during the day time. (That is all the motivation I needed to get myself out of bed :)) Jackson was so excited for school that he couldn't fall asleep Sunday night, but already by day three his enthusiasm has tanked. Pulling him out of bed was no easy task this morning. Sydney insists that I'm waking her up in the middle of the night because of how dark it is at 6:00. So far, McKell is making her way upstairs on time this year. She had a hard time last year getting up so early.
Luckily they all get a few extra minutes of sleep on the couch as Mike and I read scriptures. We hope that somehow the words are seeping into their subconscious and that one day they will actually open their eyes and participate. I guess one can only dream!
The only one around this house that enjoys waking up early is Paige. She is very disciplined and organized. Way more than her mom or dad. She has a full plate this year as she ventures into the world of AP classes and has to juggle all of her other activities as well.
Still hard to believe you guys are back to school! We have 4 more weeks and hope to fit some fun activities into that time before school starts around here. It seems like this whole summer has been about driver's ed, dance & now band camp. It is going by so fast and we've hardly done anything fun! Do the younger kids wear uniforms? It looked like they were. Enjoy the quiet!
ReplyDeleteWe are back to school this week too. Yes, it is too early! Your kids all look happy to be back in school. Do you have scriptures before seminary? We've grappled with that idea but just didn't think we could wake up the youngers that early. The elementary school doesn't start until 8:45 while middle and high start around 7:20.
ReplyDeletewe don't usually read with Paige. We figure she is getting her scripture time at seminary now. It gets hard to balance everything when they all activities at night too. We just do the best we can.
