Frozen!

This January will go down in the books as one of the coldest in a decade for Georgia.  Our trusty copper pipe burst for a second time about a foot away from where it happened the first time. Yes I got to experience rain again in the garage, but I put a stop to it a lot sooner this time because I now know how to turn the water off.  Unfortunately, when the plumber came he discovered a third pipe broken behind the wall, so we will officially be in demo mode this next week.  I'm just so glad this is all happening in the garage and not in the house.

The kids enjoyed 3 days off from school! There was down right  jubilation every time the phone call came from school saying it was cancelled for the next day.  It was like they were all 3 years old again.

We've learned how to do a lot of new things this month:

Turn off the water to the house

Make not one, but two claims on our property insurance

Talk plumbers down from their outrageous prices (thanks to my husband)

Stock up on food for a few days because everyone shuts down when they see a snowflake here

Take a dog out to the bathroom in 12 degrees and make him go in a hurry

Build lots and lots of fires
