I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go



POCATELLO, ID  
Paige was so anxious to open her call.  She said she would be happy as long as it was not somewhere like Kansas or Idaho.  We were all shocked when she read Pocatello ID, mostly because that is where all of Mike's family is from.  Plus Bear Lake is in that mission which we typically visit every year.  Honestly she was very disappointed at first.  She had dreamed of far away places and wanted to learn a foreign language.  But after processing it all day long she came to realize that she had told her bishop she would go wherever she was called.  Her new challenge was to accept the call and move forward.  
Later that night we watched the Singles Ward which helped us be able to laugh and realize it was going to be ok.  When the Elder opens his call to Boise ID, everyone feels bad for him but he reacts by doing a happy dance.  It really comes down to your attitude, and I'm so happy she's choosing to embrace it!

    I can understand this post completely! I think everyone dreams of going to a far away place and learning a language. I think I kind of had those dreams for Alex too. I know even I felt disappointed for a couple of days after he got his call. I had to fast the following Sunday to overcome those feelings. :) I never told Alex, of course, because I had to be his rock. :) Alex felt a bit the same way when he got his call, but time and time again since he has been on his mission, he has continued to see reasons why he has been called to that specific mission. I too can now list reasons why this specific mission was just what he needed. I know Paige will too.

    We thought of Alex and some other kids we know that are in Idaho and Utah and I think that helped her a lot to know other people got calls to similar places. We're all excited for the call now and feel like it is a good fit for her because of the lessons she will learn. Has Alex reached his year mark yet?
