Feb. 2017

This Valentine's Day was one for the books! There is no way to describe what it feels like to have a child come home from a mission. They are so genuinely happy and confident in who they are. They are humble and kind and loving. My sister in law Tammy described it well when she said they are like new born babies that can talk and reason. I'm a witness now to how powerful missions can be in someone's life. Paige has always dealt with some anxiety and depression but on her mission she had no symptoms of that. She has since told me that one big factor to her happiness was not being on social media. I do wonder how it is affecting our children's happiness? Another huge factor was that she was always serving other people every day. I think she would attest that selfishness never was happiness!! We are elated to have her home but I for one will miss her weekly letters. My only other regret is I did not take any pictures of our family that came into town for her homecoming. I must have been really out of it that day.

Sydney went to 6th grade science camp for three days. She absolutely loved it. She loves being with her friends and she said there wasn't too much drama. Miracles never cease!!
