Beaver Creek

Michael and I got to play pretend for a week in Beaver Creek, Colorado.  Because the military pays for him to go to radiology conferences, we were able to stay in this posh skiing resort that was amazing!  We went skiing, ate out, but most importantly relaxed and spent time alone together. The outdoor ice rink was beautiful! Mad Crepe Lady We should really be in the Olympics! My sanctuary! There are so many cool statues around.  This one was a favorite. The day before we are supposed to leave we decided to scalp some tickets and go see BYU play in Denver in the NCAA tournament. Only problem was it is 2 hours away and there was a huge storm on its way.  That storm was not stopping Mike from seeing the game.  So we started out with a little snow and some clouds Ate at PF Chang's in Denver In front of the Pepsi Center before the game. We made it to the game and loved watching our boy Jimmer beat Wofford. We ...

Spring Soccer

Image
This year Jackson has played soccer both Fall and now Spring.  We never got him signed up for basketball, so he chose to play on the Blue Cougars soccer team one more season.  Having his picture taken is not something high up on his list, but after his win he was feeling a little more willing. It has eased my burden to have Mike back because he helps with all of the driving.  Josh, Decklin, and Aiden all live in our neighborhood so that also helps ease the driving schedule a bit. Jackson has played goalie/keeper and striker.  Rotating between the two positions has been great for him because he can run hard and play up front, and then he can sit in the goalie box and rest a bit (running is one of his least favorite activities).  He has had some great saves and can drop kick it pretty far. If it were up to him he would only do games and no practices. (Did I mention he hates to run)  I'm glad he is having fun though.

Pirates of The New Beginnings

The girls had New Beginnings last month and of course in the Mormon culture we love to have our "cutesy" themes to go along with the night.  The play they performed was really creative and Sis. Keddington was a perfect Ships' Captain.  Paige had to leave right after the play so she didn't get to be in any of the shots with the cast after it was done.  I have missed working in Young Womens, but I love their leaders and think they are such great examples to my girls.

Cruise to Cozumel

We decided to take a cruise to celebrate Mike's return from Iraq.  We met up with Katie and Nick and Grandma and Grandpa in Tampa and then cruised for 4 nights to Mexico.  Despite a little grumpiness and fighting at the beginning of the trip (and no I'm not referring to any of the adults), we all had a great time and realized we really do like to be together.  There is something magical about walking into your room and witnessing perfectly made beds and fresh towels, when you know you left it otherwise; or going to meals and people serving you whatever you want and not asking you to pay for it.  (At least that is the illusion in the moment)
