Beaver Creek

Michael and I got to play pretend for a week in Beaver Creek, Colorado.  Because the military pays for him to go to radiology conferences, we were able to stay in this posh skiing resort that was amazing!  We went skiing, ate out, but most importantly relaxed and spent time alone together.

The outdoor ice rink was beautiful!

We should really be in the Olympics!

My sanctuary!

There are so many cool statues around.  This one was a favorite.

The day before we are supposed to leave we decided to scalp some tickets and go see BYU play in Denver in the NCAA tournament. Only problem was it is 2 hours away and there was a huge storm on its way.  That storm was not stopping Mike from seeing the game.  So we started out with a little snow and some clouds

Ate at PF Chang's in Denver

In front of the Pepsi Center before the game.
We made it to the game and loved watching our boy Jimmer beat Wofford. We stayed for most of Gonzaga and St. John's game as well.  We really didn't know if BYU could beat Gonzaga they looked so good and athletic. (But luckily they did)

Then we proceeded to drive home and hit the huge storm they had predicted.  They closed the freeway, so we sat still on it for one hour.  We never got stuck until we were about 100 yards from our hotel.  We could not get up the hill so they had to come rescue us.  We got home around 1 am and I was glad we made it, but I do have to confess it was worth it.

Saying goodbye--I loved the snow, but I  was glad to be going home to sun.

  1. What a great opportunity for the two of you to get some time together after 6 long months of being apart. That place is beautiful! Glad you had a wonderful time!

  2. We didn't hear about that conference. We should plan to go to one at the same time. Then we could hang out while the guys are in class. It looks like it was so fun, and Eric is definitely jealous that you got to see the BYU game. How awesome is that? His brother was texting it to him play by play. I love that you just drove two hours on a whim in a snowstorm and scalped tickets. We don't have opportunities to be so carefree often with the kids, do we? How fun for you two!
