New York--Thanksgiving 2013

We drove from DC to Trenton, NJ and caught the train into NYC so we wouldn't have to deal with our car.  The first night we went to Newsies and Times Square. It was so awesome!  Everyone loved it, especially Jackson.  He has been singing "Santa Fe" ever since. (Literally because those are the only 2 words he knows)

The next morning was the Macy's Day Parade.  It was frigid.  Luckily we purchased a stay warm breakfast so the kids could warm up right next to the parade route whenever they wanted.  They seemed to enjoy it on TV inside the restaurant better than live out on the street.  I was the only one who roughed it outside for the whole parade.  I waited for Carrie Underwood to show up, but she never came.  I guess it was too cold.

The empire state building experience was not our best moment.  The lines were so long. We waited for over 2 hours and Jackson was not cooperating.  Once we got to the top the sun was just setting and the view was breathtaking.  I decided it was worth 5 min. of beauty to endure the 2 hours prior.

The last day we ventured off to Central Park to see the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Another amazing building. Jackson and Sydney liked the greek art because of mythology.  Paige liked all of it because she has studied art history. McKell on the other hand had already seen all the art she wanted to see for awhile.

On our drive home we stopped in Philadelphia to see our high school friends Becky and James Despain.  It was sure fun catching up!
