Afternoon Among the Azaleas
One of the perks of having the kiddos all in school are the post-call days Mike gets off from work during the week. We spontaneously go places and usually there is lunch involved (which I especially enjoy). Last week we went back to one of our favorite spots, Callaway Gardens, to see the flowers blooming. We realized as we pulled into our parking spot that pretty much every car in the lot was a Lincoln and that every person in the restaurant was over 65. It felt like a club we didn't belong in, but actually it was a glimpse into the club we will be in some day. I really hope I am never driving a Lincoln, but I remember saying the same thing about a mini-van. Yikes!!
Beautiful flowers! Mike looks so reflective in that picture :) How fun to get to spend some time together during the day. I think everyone says they don't ever want to drive a minivan, and yet we all seem to get one. However, I draw a line on the Lincoln. Although I think Scott would love a big old Cadillac :)
ReplyDeleteI want my wedding pictures there!!
ReplyDeletebeautiful!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a very pretty place! Cool that you and Mike get to spend time together doing things during the day. Eric and I have had more of those kind of days this past year, but we usually have Jarem along. It's good to be reminded that there are things to look forward to with Jarem in school all day this fall. I think I'm going to be sad to let him go.
