Ping Pong Champion
Mike has had a lot of free time on his hands lately. His biggest challenge in Iraq right now is being bored. One of his new past times is ping pong. Last week he was so excited to win the tournament they had at the base where he is. The little things are what keep him going. Unfortunately I had to take his picture on Skype and it didn't convert very well and is super tiny, but at least it is proof.
We have one month of this deployment under our belt and we are starting to feel the length of his time away. I do love the fact that we can talk everyday, it really helps to see him, but I sure wish he were here.

Go Mike! I'm glad he's found something fun to do. I've heard the problem of boredom from a lot of people in Iraq. It's funny how they need them so bad and then they get there and have nothing to do. You are 1/6th done already. Now the kids will be starting school, you can get into a good routine again. I always kind comfort and structure. :)
ReplyDeleteWhat I meant was "find comfort in structure". :)
ReplyDeleteWay to go Michael! I guess all those years we had a ping pong table in basement payed off.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Mike! Hope his deployment goes quickly and safely for you all!
ReplyDeleteMike has been gone a month already? It seems fast to me, but it's kind of like when someone else is pregnant, it goes by much faster than when you are doing it :) I am glad he is doing well even if he is bored. He will be home before you know it. I agree with Rozanne about the structure. The girls have been lazy this summer. It will be nice when they get back to school. On the other hand, they are always so busy I kind of wish summer would last forever! At least we've got another month.
