Boston

Medical conferences are turning out to be one of the fun perks from the military.  We have been some amazing places.  Over spring break Mike and I headed to Boston!  Neither of us had ever been and we loved it.  I have learned that one of my favorite things to do is travel to a new place, map everything out, figure out the subway, and then explore.  I love new places.  Mike had a lot more classes he had to go to this time around, so I was on my own during the days, which was still fun because I could see everything at my own pace (which is much slower than my husband's).  I am a sucker for museums and I end up spending hours reading every plaque when I'm on my own.  The JFK library was one of my favorites, but I also loved the Old State House where the Boston Massacre took place.  We also saw Les Miz again and it did not disappoint.  They have re-staged the production and the Boston Opera House was stunning!!  I think I ate a bowl of clam chowder everyday I was there, and Mike chose the lobster bisque soup several times as well.  I think one of Mike's favorite spots was Fenway Park.  I have to admit it was pretty impressive.
I'm so grateful for Mike's parents coming out and staying with the kids all week.  They are so good to us. I know the kids enjoyed their break as well as we did.

  1. How cool that you guys get to travel to new cities. Boston looks amazing. I'd like to go there one day and check it out. Jealous that you got to go to the Cheers bar! That was one of my fav shows to watch in its heyday.

  3. OK. I had never thought of Boston as a place I would like to go, but now that you mention it and described all there is to do there, it is now on my list! Sounds awesome! I am so jealous of the Les Miz. I would love to do that again. Next time we need to plan a trip together and then we can hang out during the day and do stuff with the guys at night. That would be awesome. I like doing that same thing and I am definitely the one that likes to take my time in museums as well.
