June 2009--Seaside, Oregon
The movers came and packed us up on a Friday, but weren't loading the truck until Monday, so we decided to go to Seaside, OR for the weekend. We had a really good time. We played at the beach and actually could get in the water because it was warm enough. Mike and the kids rented a paddle boat, we went on the bumper cars and the Tilt-a-Whirl, and the kids played at the arcade. On the way home we went to Mt. St. Helens. Mike and I appreciated it a lot more than the kids. They thought the playground in front of the Visitor's Center was the best part.
Mt. St. Helens in the distance.
This is an old shipwreck near Astoria, OR. Michael has a picture of himself as a kid here in the same location. It was pretty windy so we didn't stay long.
We loved Seaside when we went. Unfortunately we didn't get to do anything other than the beach because we had the dog with us. Next time I'd like to try renting a paddle boat. That looked like a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteGlad that you are all moved in and had some fun along the way. Keep us up with all your happenings and take care.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun weekend. Mike is brave to be so close to Jackson during the mud flinging. :) We rented paddle boats with the kids in Washington DC...it was more of a workout than I expected, but a lot of fun. I was worried Jackson might have fallen in when he wasn't in the second picture, or maybe the girls threw him out for not doing his fair share. :)
ReplyDeleteWe had lots of fun!
