Orlando

The first day we went to Epcot.  It was a little chilly, but we will always have memories of the fish n' chips, the birds attacking us, the Italian street performer, and the big golf ball.

The next day we went to Disney Hollywood Studios.  It was still a little chilly, but with all of the Christmas decorations still up it gave us some authentic holiday spirit.  They even had fake snow falling from the sky.  Pretty fun!!  The kids loved the American Idol Experience and Jackson and Paige were crazy enough to go on Tower of Terror.

The next day we went to Disney's Animal Kingdom.  The safari was really neat, as was the huge carved tree and the camoflouge lady on stilts who was hiding in the trees.  The animals were amazing, especially the gorilla and its baby.  The day was capped off by us going on the rapid ride (except for Paige who hates being cold).  Sydney happened to be on the wet side of the boat. It made for a cold walk to the car.

We took a break from Disney and went to Universal to experience Harry Potter world.  Everyone of us except Sydney has read every book and seen every movie so we thoroughly enjoyed every inch of it.  Some of the high lights were the butter beer, Three Brooms restaurant for lunch, the architecture of all the buildings, the dragon ride and castle ride, and watching Jackson select the perfect wand for himself (it took a good 1/2 hour but Snape won out.)

We saved the Magic Kingdom for last.  It was our warmest day there so we went early in the day, left for a few hours and then came back in the evening to experience the fireworks.  The best surprise was that there were no lines for any rides in the last couple hours so we were able to go on a lot of things in a short amount of time.  It was lots of fun!!

A few extra pics of Syd from my iphone when she and i went to Seussland for a bit while the older kids were in the castle.

  1. I'm so jealous! We have not been to Florida/Disneyworld for a while. There was no Harry Potter World or Seussland back then. We'll have to try to make it there next year! You guys are lucky you live so close. Did you drive down?

  2. Awesome that you worked that into your Christmas break. I have never been during the holidays...always too afraid of the lines, but the lights look amazing. We loved Harry Potter too! Our favorites were the same as yours! Loved all those places too! It makes me want to go back now!
